"Astralella"

One of the artists that influence me can be found in the pages of Heavy Metal Magazine. He also has various books out now. He goes by the name Azpiri. One of his characters "Lorna" is kind of a Barbarella type chick. Ventures from place to place getting laid and fighting evil all at the same time. I thought it'd be cool to do my version of Lorna.
Am I the only one that misses movies like "Barbarella".

The drawings are coming, some have already been put on my sister site at Zhibit.org Just click my airbrush art and it'll take you right to it.

To Be Continued.....

Well it's been a while since I put any work up. I'm afraid the wait will be a bit longer now. I am preparing to leave The boiling state of Florida for the boring state South Carolina. I will be training and improving my Airbrush skills while there I may be without my computer for an undetermined amount of time. I will be drawing and sketching new babes and creatures when I can. While I'm away I hope you all continue to inspire each other and do check back here in a couple of months. It's like school being out for the summer again. Go forth and play. I will return with very cool inkdroppings and airbrush work for you all to gauk at. Mad blessing and be good me peeps. "The force will be with you.....Always"

Update

Well production is slowing. I'm sketching alot but not taking them to the next level. I'm going to be moving in a couple of months and you all know how that can be. Plus it's not a move I'm looking forward to but it has to be done. I am in a transitional period right now and my art is also going through changes. The airbrush keeps calling me and I can't ignore it. I will continue to post some new things when I can. I look forward to hearing your comments on future art and will keep you informed on my progress. Until next time, waste as much ink as you can! You never know when you wont be able to waste it anymore!
Peace be with you all!

Autobot Step by Step

A good friend asked if I could airbrush Arcee of the transformers on a black Tee for her. So here's how I did it.

Step 1: Gather reference, 2 good pics of Arcee and my own autobot T-Shirt for the logo.

Step2: I do a light sketch of the autobot logo on the back of the Tee

Step3: I proceed to airbrush the entire autobot logo in white. I use masking tape on edges where needed to ensure a straight crisp edge.

Step4: I got carried away in my work and forgot to take a few inbetween shots here. It's my first step by step gimme a break. But I airbrushed blue fading into the white. Then did the same with pink on the lower half of the logo. I added a bit of black to the top of the pink for the contrast. I then went back with white and added the highlights.

Step5: Now it's time to do Arcee on the front of the Tee.

Step6: I do a light white pencil sketch of Arcee on the front of the tee.

Step7: Proceed to airbrushing most of her in white layering the white in some areas so the pink will pop more when done.

Step8: Here I begin to add the pink then put in some black line for details and begin to hint where my highlights will go.

Step9: Time to add some blue for shadow areas and for the eyes. I also go back with black and start to finish off the detailing.

Step10: Now it's time to finish her off with highlights and add some cosmic starry effects in the background.

Step11: Ready to be heat set my job is complete and ready to be delivered to a happy fellow Transformer fan. "Arcee gracing the front and the Autobot Logo gracing her back.

New Artists

If you haven't noticed I've added some great artists that inspire me and would like to share their work with you all.
Please click away on their names and be prepared to be blown away. Rion Vernon's Pinup Toons helped inspire me to put my gals online so more people can enjoy them. I've loved his work since I discovered his site well over a year ago. I've seen his girls grow and each one is hotter than the last. Alberto Ruiz is amazing just check him out already. Neil posis a great friend and insanely gifted. When he's not customizing figures he's creating marvel masterpieces. Chris Slade unbelievably skilled. I worked with this guy when he was a novice illustrator, now forget about it. He's ridiculously talented. See for yourself. I love all these artists and more, when you see their work you'll understand why. So stop freakin readin and check them out. You've seen my girls now move along, they'll be here when you get back.

New gals coming soon

Well today was interesting. I talked to an old friend andfound new respect. I can't believe how one person can have such an amazing impact on another person. More on that at a later date.
I have a new girl but not gonna put her up yet. I'm getting a few built up and wanna bring them all on together. I had planned to enter some art into a pinup show at the Orlando museum, however due to a hectic work schedule and exhaustion I ended up missing the dealine. I'm really tired right now and am probably gonna drop after typing this. Hopefully my new gals will be done soon and good news there'll be an addition and changes to my shop. So there'll be more gals and more shirts with gals on them availalbe soon.
Until then keep wastin yur ink, YA DIG!!!!!

3 sumthin am

I had to be to work mad early today, 3am. The only way to stay awake (since I'm not a coffee drinker) is to draw. I thought this was a good idea at the time. Start drawin some more beasts and beast type babes. Now that I'm awake at 5 pm lookin at it I'm disappointed. I guess I can blame it on my groginess. Oh well gotta take the good with the bad.

New found inspiration.

This past weekend has been great for me. I finally got the chance to meet one of my favorite fellow artists.
Mr. Alberto Ruiz. I recently met up with him at Megacon comic convention in Orlando. Seeing his work first hand
in person gives you a greater respect for his art. He doesn't simply draw sexy girls or naked women. His line quality
and rhythm in his work is awesome. His drawings have a great sense of life in them that I never realized until seeing
them up close. It was truly great to see his sketches and "scribblettes". On top of that he's a great guy to talk to.
I've met some artists I admire in the past that are very standoffish and smug about their popularity. But he's very humble
and a guy that the common artist can relate to. It's good when fame (even though he won't admit to being a big dog)
doesn't go to one's head. While he may not be big in many peoples eyes he's big among certain art circles yet he's just
like you and I. I highly recommend checking out his work if you haven't already. You can see his art at: www.brandstudio.com
I have been very inspired to create and let the art flow so I'm gonna go draw some good stuff now. I'd just like to thank Mr. Ruiz for the kind words and the great art. Keep spillin the ink brother, I know I will.

The Gal's Gallery

Meet the very first RaySee girls.

About the girls

Here's my latest gal "The Shay-Ruff". She's based on a girl that I knew for a short time. An entertainer that I met at the gentlman's ballet. She once told me that "We'd make some pretty babies." She may have been right. I'll never know, but I do wonder....This one's for you Y.

Here she is the very lovely Ms. Joci. This talented young lady is an aspiring model that was kind enough to let me use her for my newest gal. My previous gals are all from my minds eye but once I saw her I had to draw her. More to come? You'll have to wait and see. Thanks J. luv ya

Big gal's can be beautiful too. Why is it that so many pinup girls are slim, petite, with some curves? I've seen many full figure ladies that would make fantastic pinup gals. I'm not crazy about Valentine's day, but I'd buy Val some chocolate. If you got it fluant it. Big gals are women too so let's here it for the real voluptious gals.

Why did you do that?

Why do I draw half naked women, and ugly monsters? This is a question that some may ask me or some may think and not ask. Hopefully this will give some answers to friends, family, or interested factions.
Women are one of God's greatest creations. They are our nurtures, life givers. They are powerful yet delicate at the same time. I suppose that's why I love drawing them. I want to show them being powerful, attractive, and soft. The female body is a work of art. Some artist and art viewers can look at still life or abstract art and be amazed by it. I am amazed by women. I am amazed at the curves the delicacy, and how such a soft package can be very deadly. Women are what inspire me and influence my imagination.
The only other thing that has as much influence on me is the King of all Monsters...Godzilla. As a child growing up I'm not sure what it was about Godzilla that I was drawn to. Maybe it was the cool scream/roar he does. Maybe it was the destruction he caused. I was hooked from the start. Dinosaurs mythical dragons and beasts, they are wonderous creatures. I've heard it before, "Draw what you know". I may not know a lot of things but I know I love monsters, creatures and women. Creature design amazes me to the core. Maybe it's the curiosity of wondering if this creature really exists. What would it look like if it had this or that.
My mom would love for me to paint portraits or murals or landscapes. These are great and I love and admire the beauty of them. But it doesn't give me that spark. Alphonse Mucha, Gil Elvgren, and many others have wowed me with how amazingly beautiful women can be represented. I can only hope that my work may show someone else that. Maybe in a humorous way, but women of all shapes and sizes are wonderful beings we are lucky to inhabit this planet with. So since graduating high school in 1989 I decided (vaguely) to draw mostly babes and beasts.
It's what I like, so there.

Work I worked on at Work

Here we go with some new hero sketches. Ball point pen and white watercolor on cardboard. I just start sketching and sith happened! I call it a waste of ink.
But a very GOOD waste of ink. I can't figure out why some of the best sketches happen on scrap paper. Gimme a clean new sketchbook and I'll give you the worst excuse for art you could ever want to see. But gimme a snot rag out of the trash, and you get the next best thing to the Mona Lisa. Not that these are that good, but I like em.
